Hazel Maddocks

Hazel is a combined arts practitioner exploring the fusion of dance, aerial circus and physical theatre. Her practice has evolved through a diverse background including  training at the Arts Educational School, London Contemporary Dance School,  Circus Maniacs and overseas study in Thailand and Cuba. From this knowledge she produces work which constantly redefines itself and is evocative in nature.

Hazel established Zu Aerial Dance in 2004 and her work has been supported by Arts Council England, Grass Roots and Made in Brighton. Outside of Zu she continues to work as a freelance performer, choreographer and workshop facilitator.

Helen Day

An actress and dancer, Helen is a corde-lisse and silk performer who enjoys exploring character work in the air and blending aerial work with dance technique.

Helen has worked as a colaborator and performer with Zu Aerial since 2008 whilst maintaining her free lance career and managing H2oh! Entertainment - a British based event management company, providing performers both nationally and internationally for a wide spectrum of events.

Trained as a professional dancer in contemporary dance, ballet and contact improvisation. She then completed her circus studies in NECCA USA with ex cirque du soleil aerialists Elsie and Serenity Smith. On returning to England she joined Zu Aerial bringing her specialism’s as a dancer, aerialist and hand-balance artist. She works with Zu collaboratively for performance and as a course tutor whilst continuing to develop her own work.
